that was all she had said. in her heart, she had known it was pointless. but she had shouted it out anyways, doing her best to hide the quiver in her voice. it was a dare. there was nothing she could really do in that moment, and she’s sure he knew it.
even still, pale fists clenched at her sides, desperation and fear remain shining in her eyes, but become overpowered by determination. “ i will. ” her voice starts quiet, like it’s more for herself to hear than him. “ no matter what. even if it takes another fifteen years, i will. ”
she won’t rest until then.
