Toudou had almost made it a recreational activity - indeed, to be repeated - to follow along with Yukio’s missions when he had the time. He rarely interfered, and rarely got close enough for anyone to notice. It was mostly to keep an eye on his favorite little curiosity.

Usually he didn’t interfere.

Yukio had gotten himself in over his head. He only had two other exorcists with him, and they were only Lower First Class, the both of them. They almost blew the whole mission in trying to take down more demons, using more power, than they could’ve done on their own.

Toudou was almost boiling with fury now. How could he be so reckless? He had nearly thrown himself under the bus with trying that fight. Did he know how valuable he was? How important he was?

Once the other two exorcists moved away from the younger of the two Okumura brothers, Toudou moved towards him as he had done before. Quite a few times, actually. He managed to find his way to Yukio and idealized his path. He was going to give this boy a talking to.

Yukio happened to be turning a corner for a shortcut to the temporary place he’d be staying, on a slightly higher pay grade than the exorcists he’d been working with (they were completely different ranks), when Toudou caught up to him and managed to slam him against the wall of the building.

“Listen here.” His voice was strict and focused, and his hand was clamped firmly around Yukio’s throat, and kept him from talking quite yet. “If you let yourself get killed, I’ll have to bring you right back to kill you myself. You’re not allowed to die, Okumura-kun.”

He loosened his hand and dropped Yukio back to his feet. Coughing for breath and to cool off, the Okumura couldn’t reply. He just watched Toudou walk off again, back to whatever it was that he did with his time. Not like he had the strength to go after him.
