     she  tries  to  laugh but all it does is vibrate through bruised ribs and ripple through every damaged  space  on  her  body.  jessie  had  always  managed  to  be the  sun,  no matter  what. even when she was bruised ribs   and a  cut  lip.  “  You’ve  got  a lot  to learn  about  me, “  she  says  with  a  grin.  they’d  just  gotten back  from  a mission  and  jessie  had  gotten  roughed  up;  wasn’t  quick  enough, options  a  ,  b  and  c.  wedge  and  biggs  were  at  the other table, a mix of sulk  and glares.  barett was over  with  marlene, a  smile , she  turns back to tifa, who was tending some disinfectant on  a  cut.   

   “  you  gotta  fight  like  a  girl  out  there..”  a pause. “ their hearts are  in the  right  place. things  like  this  happen  sometimes,  the  show must  go  on. “  adds  a little  more  quietly. “ don’t  worry  Tifa,  you’ll get so used to us ,  you’ll be sick of us. “
