As I sit here and write my final paper for this course, I can’t help but feel a bit sad. I guess that was my freshman year of college. I can’t believe it’s over already! It seems like just last week I was a scared newbie, now I feel like a seasoned veteran. I feel like I have grown a lot over the past two semesters. Coming into college I definitely had that cocky “I can do anything because I did well in high school” mentality that a lot of high schoolers have. Boy was I wrong. Since coming to college I have vastly improved my work ethic, which is probably the sole reason that I passed my classes. Along with improving my work ethic I have also actually learned to enjoy many of the things I never thought I would. Mathematics, for instance, is something that I never much liked in high school, and I now very much enjoy math. As nerdy as it sounds, I really like sitting down and doing some calculus.

The end of the semester is approaching very fast! I didn’t realize how close it was until I scrolled down on a moodle course and saw the bottom (SCARY)!!!!!

This project is interesting and perplexing in many ways. It is interesting that we must choose whether or not to split up our group. I realize that many groups may not click very well together, and that would be a good reason to split up. In my opinion, however, my group works together very well. Splitting up a group that already works well together might be detrimental to our productivity. The plan as it stands right now is to “split” our group into two different projects, but have all members work on both projects. This may seem counter intuitive, but I believe that we work better when all of us are working together.

I just want to start this reflection out by saying that getting our group’s presentation out of the way early was the  best decision ever. We worked very hard last Monday and got the whole presentation done, then did some fine tuning during the week. Not having to worry about that let me focus on my other schoolwork, and for once in my life I was able to get ahead.

I’m actually pretty excited to present our project. I feel like we’ve put a good amount of work into it, and it is well-prepared. I wish my group had let me put more funny gif’s in the presentation like I wanted, but I guess I can’t win them all.

Yo, I have the same name as the title of this post. I’m a freshman at the University of Minnesota, and I am indeed a “fresh” man. I’ve lived in Minnesota my entire life, and I feel confident in my skills to re-create the events of The Revenant. Currently I am studying Aerospace Engineering, which slowly but surely drains my soul and all happiness from the world. I hope to use my education to further humanity’s ability to explore space, but I’ll probably end up working in defense (woo). When I’m not buried under mountains of homework (which is never) I like to get lost while biking in odd parts of town, play in traffic, make my own rocket engines (it’s only illegal if you get caught!), and plot world domination. I also play Tuba/sousaphone in the U of M Marching Band, I guess that’s interesting or something. I’m excited about this class partially because I hope to gain design experience without the brute-force-steamroller that is CSE, but mostly because the name of the class looks like a curse word. Ok I’m done now.
