VEX Adventures
We’re doing VEX stuff today! Wooooo – actual physical SquareBots!
After spending a week in the Robot Virtual World program and doing some coding in Robot C and figuring out the controls, we finally get to do some hands on stuff.
Today’s timed challenge – In teams of 3, you get 120 seconds to figure out how the fleep to download a program onto the thing and get the squarebot to follow the marked out course. Our class has marked out a simple course on the floor with 6 turns.
If no one can figure it out, our teacher will show us how to do it.
Lol, nah, man. We gon’ figure this out.
I’ll post a photo when it works.
--
Update: My group is doing nothing. Fine, yeah, get me to program everything. I’m down with that. Don’t say girls can’t code when I’m carrying so hard.
--
Further Update – Round 1: We forgot to turn on the robot.
--
Update 3: It’s been 10 minutes, no one has figured out that you need to turn on the thing.
--
UPDATE 4: WE DID IT. IT MOVES AND IT ALMOST FELL OF THE TABLE BUT WE SAVED IT. Okay, we sort of did it – we can’t figure out how the fleep to make it move without the cable.
--
OKAY. 10 minutes to program a thing before it’s our turn to do it again. We can probably start coding the program and during the 120 seconds we can literally figure out how to do it without the cable.
--
Update 5: Coding now. Not enough time to do the math. Also have no idea what the measurements are. Trial and error time. Oh lo,l our code has a compiling error. Jk, I got it. Alright. It’s set to start after a 3 second wait. Plugged in. Debugging... okay so we can see it going through the action sequence without the cable. Download time. IT WORKS! KIND OF? – Time’s up. Noooooo. Alright, time for lecture.
I’ll post a photo anyway.

In Lecture:
OHMYGOD. HE DIDN’T GIVE US THE VEXNET USB.
