My thoughts on what's been going on in Toriko
I think one of the biggest reasons why they stayed in the Gourmet world is because the Human world is pretty much obliterated right now...Though we haven't seen a lot of the wreckage, what we have seen is really horrible. People must be starving left and right and just trying to get by in a place that is virtually uninhabitable right now. This brings me to my next point, why would Toriko go back to that horrible place with Komatsu when he can just as easily protect Komatsu in the Gourmet world?
And also, because people have been suffering since what happened, it'll probably hurt Toriko to go and see all of those people starving when he used to be in that position. He seems stable now, but his emotions could be easily swayed and that just seems like a toxic environment for him to be in, but the absolute biggest reason why I think they're there, above everything else is because of the shortage of food in the Human world right now. It's Toriko's job to hunt and gather, and that is exactly what he's been doing. Why would he not have Komatsu, his partner, there to help him? Sure the Gourmet world is dangerous as fuck but Toriko is more than capable of protecting Komatsu in the Gourmet world while doing his goddamned job, especially when the starving people in the Human world need it most.
I wonder if anyone mentioned the fact that GT Robos (at least on the Bishoukukai side) seem to be modeled or at least have foreshadowed the existence of Blue Nitros . . . the similarity in that their mouths open vertically (not to mention Midora vaguely knows about them). Also the Nitro in Vegetable Sky may have been a Blue Nitro as well (its 'beak' shape is a little slimmer and the mandible isn't distinct).Â
