Holden's Introduction and Evolution (1948-1976) highlighting the intro of the first Holden in 1948 (the 48/215) and traces its evolution through iconic models like the FJ, FE, FC, FB, HK Kingswood, HK Premier, HT Monaro GTS, HQ Monaro LS Coupe, HQ Statesman De Ville, LJ Torana XUI, HJ Premier, and HJ GTS 4 Door.
Culminating in the 1976 HX series, which marked GM's 50th year in Australia. The HX series included models like the Belmont, Kingswood, Premier, Statesman, and Monaro LE Coupe, featuring updates to meet new Australian emissions regulations. HQ Holdens and LJ Toranas on the production line in August 1973 at the Holden Acacia Ridge assembly plant in Brisbane, Queensland, Australia. Plans were set up for the Brisbane plant in July, 1964 to start construction of the $20 million Acacia Ridge plant. On January the 19th, 1965, assembly operations started at Acacia Ridge with the limited assembly of HD Holdens. The Holden Torana was released to the Australian press at Acacia Ridge in September, 1967, and production of the Gemini started in 1975. The plant employed up to1500 workers, and was then to close with the final vehicles coming off the production line at the end of October in 1984
