Have you ever wanted to be a Personal Shopper? At one time I thought that’s what I wanted to do and it turned out that it’s not my forte. However, over my many years in the retail business I have made friends with some amazing and truly talented Personal Shoppers. But, there is only one that I raise my glass to, Beoncia Dunn who is a Personal Shopper at the the notoriously popular Topshop Topman store located in Atlanta, GA. I love her style because it’s not gender bias. While she dresses men, she also routes for the tomboys. Awesome right? Check out my interview with the woman who dresses Atlanta.
A: What made you want to be a Personal Shopper?
B: I like the way clients react as they see a girl coming out of the suite to dress them. Styling is something I love, so I went for it.
A: What inspires your style?Â
B: Creative personal style, this means mixing designer with vintage. Also paying attention to the minor details in an outfit. You can wear all black but, you can easily add detail to it with accessories or items that add texture.
A:What do you love and hate about being a Personal Shopper?
B: What I don’t like is that sometimes people don’t really understand what personal shopping is in general. Also working at Topshop Topman, you run onto a lot of clients who think it’s just another H &M or Forever 21. Truth is that it’s way more quality than what your getting at other stores. The great thing about being a Personal Shopper is always meeting people and gaining premium clientele.Â
