❝  honey, they have always been there.  ❞  her hand rests against his chest, the feeling of the blouse under his jacket cool against her fingertips. of anyone she has met, there is no one’s heart that is warmer than her husbands. she has known that since the moment that she met him. his heart has always been in the right place, but much like herself, he had the wrong people on his side through it all. sebastian took advantage of his kindness, of his trust that sebastian would take care of his people while he was gone. none of that is his fault.

❝  topher, no.  ❞  ella stops him almost immediately, head shaking in disagreement.  ❝  i will not let you blame yourself for the things that happened.  ❞  not a single bit of it was his fault. all of her life, ella had to learn to fight her own battles, and she did. at the end of the day, her step-mother lost. being forced out of the kingdom in shame, she had the honor to hand down the decree from the very throne that she so sought after. there was nothing that her husband could have done to stop anything that madame did to her, and she will not allow him to burden himself with the thought that it was in any way his fault.

the routine of a queen is a hard one to fall into.  after so many days of meetings, planning, and state visits, ella begins to grow tired. more so, she begins to grow increasingly impatient at the lack of time she gets to spend alone with her husband. jewels are removed, heavy dress traded in for simple cotton, and her bare feet pad around the castle floors in search of her handsome king. eventually, finding him resting in a chair in his study, a book in hand.

love has always existed,  in some way, shape, or form, it has always existed around them. between creatures, ecosystems, planets, and everything in between;  it has lived on through centuries, as depicted by the large family tree of his. perhaps no marriage had been as unconventional as theirs, but ella must believe that there was some sort of love that existed between the partnerships. she remembers, growing up and seeing just how in-love her parents had been with one another. the way they would kiss each others cheeks as they danced in the living room, the way her father always held ella’s hand as well as her mothers whenever they went on trips together.

it’s the little things that have always made love exist in the world. human to human, love exists in so many different ways.
