#top4watch

people who know me irl know I'm a huge movie buff; I've watched over 230 movies this year so far and by god I'm having fun doing it.

To help fuel this, I tend to have multiple Movie Projects going at the same time. For example, every month my roommate and I choose five movies apiece to watch together that month; I have an ongoing list of horror movies I want to watch, we have lists of directors we want to watch more of, we have lists of recent releases, etc.

One of my ongoing projects since February has been to watch the top 4s of every account I follow on Letterboxd. This took longer than I thought it would because I kept following new people lol, but last night I finished!!

It was such a fun project; if you want to watch more movies and specifically want to step outside your comfort zone in terms of genre, demographic, etc., I highly recommend it. I watched so many movies I don't think I would have even heard of otherwise, including some that have become my all-time favorites. It's also a great way to get to know the people you follow.

I made a list of all the movies I watched for this project (almost; if a top 4 movie was a sequel, I watched the movies leading up to it as well, but I didn't put them on this list).

You can find that list here! If I follow you on Letterboxd and a movie on your top 4 isn't on the list, that means I had watched it before starting this project. I've at least rated all the movies I've ever watched, so you can still find my opinions on your faves on my Letterboxd even if they aren't on the list.

I'm planning on keeping this list up as I follow more people (and as the people I follow update their top 4s)! If I know you but don't follow you on Letterboxd and you want to force me to watch your favorite movies, you now have an avenue to do so. (If you don't think I'll recognize your Letterboxd handle, maybe shoot me a message on your preferred social media app or messaging system so I know who you are.)
