That’s right everyone, it’s that time of year again where I flood your feed with a list of my favorite songs of the year! The criteria is simple, if it was released in one way or another between Dec. 1, 2018 and Nov. 30, 2019, AND I thought the song was the bee’s knees (what does that mean anyway? Do bees even have knees?), then it’ll be on the list.
I’ve been forcing people to listen to what I think is the best music since I was a kid but I’ve now been doing it on the interwebs for 10 years. SO, since this is the 10th Anniversary Edition of my yearly “Best of,” this year I will list 110 songs instead of my usual 100.
If you’re the type that stopped listening to new music in high school and think there’s no good music anymore, my sincerest hope is that you find a song or two on my list that will disprove that belief. The list is in the form of a countdown and it is more or less in order from least to most favorite, but I think every song on the list is worth a listen or even worth buying (if you still do that).
The list this year is surprisingly short on hip-hop songs. Not sure why that is, I’m sure I’ve missed some great ones so if you want to recommend some, send them my way!
