Elias entwines his fingers on his desk, leisurely reclining into his chair as Jon enters his office. He allows the corners of his lips to rise into a tightly controlled smile as Jon turns the lock to his office door with an audible click and makes his way solemnly to Elias’s side.

He turns his chair to face the Archivist, whose eyes are heavy with fatigue and the weight of the task unwittingly put on his shoulders. The telltale purple shadows beneath them are stark against his pale skin and his hands fidget nervously at his front.
