DUM-E rolled around the lab, water gun ready as he searched for the little ones. It wasn’t often they were allowed to play in the lab, but all the kids had gotten such good grades this semester, Uncle Tony and Aunt Cosima had allowed them to roam the lab for a game of ‘water gun battle’. They weren’t entirely unsupervised; Tony was watching them from the security camera while Cosima was taking care of baby Cordelia nearby.
Carmen ran behind a desk, coming face to face with the ready bot. “Wait!” she exclaimed, getting DUM-E to stop before he could pull the trigger and spray her with water. “DUM-E, let’s work together,” the young girl suggested. “The boys have already teamed up, I just know it!”
The bot chirped at her, quickly pulling the trigger on his water gun and spraying Bucks as he tried to sneak up behind the girl. “Hey, you’re supposed to be on our side!” the boy shouted to DUM-E, getting a few beeps in response.
“Come on, DUM-E!” Carmen yelled, running off while the bot rolled after her.
Tone came up to Bucks, looking him over. “Dude, I thought you had her!”
“No, she ran from me. I couldn’t catch her and then she grabbed DUM-E for her team.”
“Think we can snipe them?” Tone wondered.
“With a water gun? No way,” Bucks answered. “Maybe if it was those foam darts, but not water.”
“Would’ve been nice if we could…”
“Children, you have five more minutes of lab access,” JARVIS chimed in.
“Oh no!” Bucks shouted, hoping to find Carmen and DUM-E quickly before time ran out.
The boys ran around the lab, wondering where the girl and bot duo could be. “See them?” Tone asked.
“Nope,” Bucks answered, getting soaked again a few minutes later. “Argh!”
Tone got sprayed just a moment after him. “Oh man!”
“Time’s up,” they heard JARVIS state.
DUM-E chirped and gave a victory spin. “Yay, we won!” Carmen exclaimed, doing her own little dance.
“Maaan…” Tone groaned, dropping the water gun to his side. “Fine… good job, sis.”
“You got us,” said Bucks. “Good job to you too, DUM-E.”
The bot happily chirped some more, his claw spinning while still holding the water gun.
“Hey, kids,” they all heard as their Uncle Tony walked up. DUM-E made an excited beep and turned to him, accidentally pulling the trigger and spraying Tony in the chest. The kids started to giggle as the man simply looked down at his shirt and sighed. “Buddy, be glad I’m not in anything fancy right now,” he said, taking the water gun from the bot. “Now kids, remember, if you ace your next tests, I’ll let you have another battle in here. Deal?”
“Deal!” they all shouted in unison. The boys would have to try getting DUM-E on their team next time.

The kids were running around their grandfathers’ home in Avenger Tower, getting into whatever they could. After Bucky and Steve finally rounded them up enough times, the youngsters decided on a new game. Hopping onto the couch, Carmen shouted, “The floor is lava! Everybody get off the floor!”
Bucks and Tone both followed her lead, climbing on top of the furniture. Steve lightly chuckled. “Well, I guess you guys won’t be stampeding everywhere anymore then.”
“Uncle Tony would tell us to get more creative,” said Bucks, jumping onto Steve himself.
Bucky had to grin at his husband. “Well, he is right, Steve.”
“What good will that do you if I just stand here, Bucks?” Steve asked the child.
“Then I’ll just...” He went up Steve’s body like a monkey and then leapt to Bucky, the man easily catching the boy with a laugh. “Deda will take me wherever.”
“Kid, I don’t have to take you anywhere if I don’t wanna,” Bucky told him.
“Aw...”
“Don’t you give me your mama’s pout, boy.”
Steve glanced at the twins. “Are you two going to try pulling off the same thing?”
“No, I don’t think I can make the jump,” Tone admitted, sounding so much like his father Cllint.
“I bet I could but I don’t want to,” said Carmen. “Bucks can be the delivery boy though, and me and Tone are, like, royals or something, and he brings us stuff.”
“Like sneaking some of Uncle Tony’s popsicles out of the freezer,” Bucks suggested, hanging from Bucky’s vibranium arm now.
“You don’t have to steal them, you know,” Steve told them.
“But he quizzes us if we ask for them.”
“He wants you kids to be smart.”
“Aunty Cosima quizzes us too,” complained Tone.
“She wants you to be smart too,” said Bucky. “School and an education is important to them.”
“But they don’t even have to go to school.”
“They’re also not little kids trying to get out of going to classes by pretending to be sick every other week.”
“We’re not little,” whined Carmen.
“Then go to class and learn and then show Tony and Cosima how much you learned, then you’ll probably get all the sweets you want.” Bucky dropped Bucks onto the couch with Carmen.
“Really?” the girl asked. “All the sweets we want?” She smiled at her brothers. “New goal!”
