12. what was the most unexpected book you read this year?
that was probably the acotar series for me, i went from calling them "the fairy s*x books" to being obsessed with them and finishing book 2 in less than two days

to be taught, if fortunate by becky chambers!!!!!! it changed my life, it's beautifully written, the science checks out, and it taught me so much about what it means to be human, what it means to sacrifice yourself for a greater good, what it means to have people you can trust 100%, it's the best book i've read this year

yes, but not because i hated those books but because i need to finish them some other time (for examle the deep by alma katsu or one hundred years of solitude by gabriel garcía márquez)

the last house on needless street by catriona ward (my girlfriend recommended it to me)
near the bone by christina henry (it has similar vibes to the novel i'm working on right now)
captive prince by c.s. pacat (my friends are bullying me to read that one)
iron widow by xiran jay zhao (i've heard a lot of great things about that one)
the novelization of @djarinsbeskar's a sensual summoning
