Tommy wasn’t sure why he was jealous. Jealousy isn’t a good look, it only makes you seem selfish. That’s something Wilbur had told him when he asked why his brother hung out with Ranboo all the time now.

It wasn’t as if they were in a relationship. Wilbur came at night, they had sex, and the next morning Wilbur was gone and Tommy was alone again. Sometimes, in his most vulnerable moments, Tommy let himself imagine them as boyfriends, holding hands and sharing secret kisses, just silly romantic nonsense, all things Wilbur scoffed at.

We’re not dating, Tommy. You’re my fucking brother, do you know how disgusting it is to want to date your own brother?

Still, there was an ache in Tommy’s body, a burning hunger for Wilbur to stay with him and hold him, whisper sweet nothings into his ears. Tell him that he loves Tommy, because fuck, Tommy loves him. Is IN love with him.

Don’t ever say that to me again. You’re disgusting, Tommy, completely deranged.

Still, Tommy followed Wilbur around, listening to his ramblings and doing as his brother wanted. But lately, Wilbur visited Ranboo, leaving Tommy to watch from the distance.

Wilbur looked…happy with Ranboo. Happier than he ever was with Tommy that is. And maybe that’s were the resentment came from. How Tommy had to fight tooth and nail for just a scrap of Wilbur’s affection while Ranboo got it for free.

It hurt, seeing them laugh and joke together, Wilbur’s patting Ranboo on the back or putting a friendly hand on his shoulder. Tommy wondered what Wilbur’s hands felt like when they weren’t bruising his hips and pulling his hair. He thinks they would feel nice. But Wilbur didn’t touch him like that. That wasn’t how their relationship worked.

“Tommy!”

Of course. He couldn’t even think to himself in peace. Tommy sighed. “What do you want?” It came out harsher than he meant, but Ranboo didn’t seem phased.

Because Ranboo was kind and perfect, everything Tommy wasn’t. Really, he couldn’t fault the people who left him for Ranboo. He would have left himself too if he could. Still, he wished the enderman would leave him alone. No matter how many times he pushed him away, he didn’t take the hint.

“Oh! I just, um, wanted to ask if you wanted to go mining with me. Spend time together, I never see you anymore…” Ranboo trailed off, a purple blush dusting over his face. He was nervously playing with the stem of an allium in his hand.

Tommy blinked. Usually he would make an offensive comment to Ranboo, but he was too tired to even try. “No, I think I’m good.” Sharp and cold. Just like how he felt.

Ranboo’s tail drooped, something akin to sadness in his eyes. “I don’t understand, you never come to visit anymore, you ignore all my messages, it’s like you don’t want to be around me anymore.”

Bingo! We have a winner!

“And I really miss hanging out with you!” Oh, he’s still talking. “Just for a little bit, please? I miss you, I miss seeing my best friend.”

Anger. That was the emotion that Tommy felt at that moment. He whipped around, hands clenched into fists. “Don’t you a have a husband and kid to bother. Or better yet, a brother to steal?” Tommy spat, finding satisfaction in the way Ranboo flinched.

And that’s when he admitted it to himself. He was jealous. Because Wilbur loved Ranboo and not him. Wilbur saw Ranboo as a little brother, a companion, when all Tommy was was his sex toy when he needed to get laid.

It wasn’t fucking fair.

Ranboo didn’t even get angry, because of course he didn’t, he just looked sad. Pitying. “Tommy, sunshine, I don’t want to be with them right now, I want to be with you. I..I really lo-“

“Don’t. Don’t you fucking dare finish that sentence, Ranboo,” Tommy spat. He didn’t want Ranboo’s love, he wanted Wilbur’s. And he was never going to get that because Wilbur loved Ranboo. Except Ranboo loved him.

What a fucking mess. They were all pathetic.

“Leave me alone, Ranboo. Don’t come looking for me again.”

He began to walk away, ignoring Ranboo’s protests for him to stay. He needed to get home anyway. Wilbur would be there soon.
