Thing of spring break is my brother has to sell the tombola tickets of school.

He is walking around the train car, selling tickets to strangers and explaining the possible wins. In the train. My sister and I are looking at each other, baffled that this is a thing he can do.

He started five minutes ago. He already sold like 4, from the thing I hear.

The concept ‘Nuvant fa a paur’ is related to the ancient neapolitan tradition of the ‘Tombola’ game played during Christmas holidays.

This is a lottery game, similar to Bingo, that for each number has a corresponding image or phrase, known as ‘figure’ or ‘simbologie’, which adds a fun and cultural twist to the game.

The number 90 corresponds to “a’ paur” which means ‘fear’. In this piece, the background is the scan of an old Tombola sheet that contains all the numbers that I found in my nonna’s house. The use of color red comes from the classic layout of the game (pic. 1&2)

I don’t know exactly what I wanted to communicate but I guess it’s the blurriness that fear can give us.
