Espresso: Describe your usual morning routine.
I have three alarms set, usually five minutes apart. I let all three of them go off before really opening my eyes. I then lay in the dark and check my email and social media sites at first with just my left eye open and then slowly open the right eye, maybe 5 minutes in. I then take a shower, sometimes without the light on and other times I'm ready for the dimmish light in my bathroom to be on. I shower pretty quickly. I brush my hair, take my insulin, put on some moisturizer and deodorant, grab my lunch and dinner and then head out the door. I tend to eat a burrito from the sweet lady at the clinic and I might stop and get a large iced tea from either duncan donuts or mcdonalds depending if I'm going for decent or cheap. By the time I'm at the clinic around 7:50, I'm more or less capable of being a human being for the next 12-24 hours.
This is what happens on shift days or class days. If I have nowhere to go I'll stay in bed with the computer on my chest for hours before really getting up.
Either way, I'm not the best at just waking up and rushing to where I need to be. If I don't get my acclimation time (I woke up 40 minutes late the other day and I was wrecked for the entire shift. I made it there in time but it was horrible.) I yawn for the rest of the day and am fuzzy. The exception to this is when I have to wake up quickly for an imminent birth. I'm able to snap into focus better if there's a baby coming right! now!
Kopi: Describe an incident when you tried something new.
I just tried some bladderwrack today. It tasted like a mouthful of seawater. Which makes sense. The licensed midwife on today told me, "don't smell it first!" because she knows I can't get passed how things smell in order to eat them if they're stinky (it's a sad part of my existence and the reason why vinegar is the worst) but I smelled it after and don't really know why she was so adamant. It didn't smell like anything really.
