"What a shame, for I dearly love to laugh." Elizabeth Bennet, Pride and Prejudice. . . One of the most beautiful sounds a person can make is the sound of laughter. It is the melody of joy and delight, the song that can draw even strangers together in shared amusement. Of all the things I love about being in community, laughter is probably one of the most treasured...though of course I cherish the times I can share deep conversations, spend quality time together, and invest in new and old friendships with others, the ability to laugh with them can truly be such a freeing and filling feeling (try saying that ten times fast!). . . . I must've laughed at least a hundred times today, sometimes at priceless jokes, sometimes ridiculous comments, sometimes at absurd situations...although I tend to laugh pretty easily anyways, it was such a good feeling to feel so alive with laughter with a group of new and old friends, so far away from home. Sometimes I can take myself and my life too seriously, trying to make grand meaning and purpose out of every little word or experience...but today was such a good reminder that life is too short to slave away at every detail; there should always be room to find the humor and light in each situation. . . . Thankful to the people who constantly remind me to be filled with joy and laughter, especially when I'm with people I care most about. Here's to making more memories, singing more karaoke, and laughing until our throats hurt, our ears tear, and our heart smiles. :) #week3 #day16 #japan #adventuretime #laughter #idearlylovetolaugh #janeausten #community #fellowship #tomakingmorememories #japancrew #crystalsayshi (at Osaka Castle)
