As if the coronavirus pandemic didn’t have everyone already on edge, there’s now word that national treasure Tom Hanks has the virus.

A trailer for Tom Hank’s upcoming war epic Greyhound has just been released, and it’s shows an action-packed war at sea. Opening with a prayer, the film is based on the novel The Good Shepherd, about World War II’s Battle of the Atlantic.

The movie releases on June 12.

How did this come to pass? Well, Bieber and Jepsen share a manager named Scooter Braun whose wedding Hanks attended last year. “Scooter was telling the story [of the video] to Tom over dinner, and Tom apparently said ‘Why not me? Why didn’t you ask me?” Jepsen told Access Hollywood. “I got a call three days before Christmas from Scoots being like ‘Do you think Tom Hanks would do?’” Hanks, of course, already proved his singing chops to Braun and Jepsen at the wedding, when he jumped onstage and did his version of Montell Jordan’s This Is How We Do It. And if that’s hard to believe, you can always check Bieber’s Instagram where he captured his future video partner.

Clearly it’s due to six degrees of Scooter Braun and Hanks ended up getting a big a stamp of approval from a whole new generation of fans. (Insert thumbs up emoji here.)
