Jim Robson and Tom Larscheid were one of the great sports broadcasting combinations. They complimented each other very well. Jim Robson is widely considered one of the most important hockey broadcasters of all time. Basically what Vin Scully is to baseball, Jim Robson is to hockey.
Always prepared and completely unflappable, Robson’s professionalism was paired with his evocative, descriptive commentary and a classic broadcaster’s voice.
Trained in radio, he called thousands of professional hockey games. When he called a game on television, you could still close your eyes and know exactly what was going on.
His many peccadilloes and trademarks are well-remembered from decades of broadcasting. At some point during every game he would say, “It is at this time that we would like to extend greetings to widows... pensioners... the blind... people who enjoy our broadcasts but can’t get out to hockey games.”

I barely saw hockey on television as a kid, but I listened to it on the radio several nights a week.

Tom Larscheid, Roberto Luongo, and Trevor Linden who are going to be inducted to the BC sports hall of fame, tonight!
Mike Gillis has changed the culture of this team; he has found the different pieces to the puzzle. I'm hoping -actually praying -the team will mirror its regular-season performance in playoffs. I'm not sure there will be another Canucks team in my lifetime to match this one.
