Today's theme is Identity.

There weren't many in the studio who still remembered who they had once been, and fewer still who held onto those identities.

Although Sammy might have remembered his name and vague things about what the studio had been like before its fall, overall, he had utterly lost his mind.

The twisted Alice both remembered who she'd once been and what the studio had once been like, but she chose to cast her former identity aside in favor of embracing the role of Alice.

Bertrum remembered and had held onto his identity, but he, too, had unfortunately gone mad due to his isolation in Attraction Storage.

And then there was Tom. Tom remembered the way things had once been, held tightly to his identity, and had managed to hold onto his sanity in the face of the horrors of the studio. Aside from Henry, he was the closest out of everyone to remaining who he had been before getting stuck in the cycle. The only problem was his lack of voice. He habitually cursed the form he had found himself in, robbed of the very thing he had always felt he lacked in his daily life. A voice. He'd never felt like anyone had ever listened to him before, and now no one could listen to him. The best he could do was try to write out his thoughts or attempt a crude form of sign language. A language which Allison did not speak.

Allison....

It pained him to see her robbed of her identity, reduced to a shell of the bright, beautiful woman he'd fallen in love with. Sometimes, it seemed like she remembered something of the life they'd shared together, but it was usually gone as soon as it came, or reduced to just fleeting images that she would paint on the walls in an attempt not to forget. Sometimes he wanted to share memories with her, but... he didn't know if it would be worth it. If she would even believe him. Or if she would resent him comparing her to a version of herself she couldn't be.

A part of him couldn't help but wonder if this was some sort of punishment from Joey. To remain sane in a world of mad men and women, the only one who still truly remembered the way everything was supposed to be, trapped with a version of his wife who didn't remember anything about what they had once been.
