Northern Moldova Plateau
Northern Moldova Plateau (Podișul Moldovei de Nord), is a form of relief in Northern Moldova and the eastern region of Cernăuți in Ukraine. Maximum altitude reaches 299 m in Ocnița, the average being 200 m.
The territory is mostly leveled plains, valleys and ravines with fewer than Dniester Plateu (Podișul Nistrului) and Central Moldova Plateau (Podișul Moldovei Centrale).
In the west of the plateau, near the Prut River basin, at the surface comes out the Sarmatian formations, known in Russian as toltres and in Romanian language as "Reefs of Prut" (stâncile Prutului).
