Masa quietly traversed the halls of the tower until he made it to his bedroom. For the first time since Yuko died, Masa brushed his hair, and changed his clothes. He put on the nicest clothes he had with him, and topped it with the hoodie Yuko gave him. Although Masa didn’t have time to wash the blood off of himself and fix the bags under his eyes, but, he did put some pink lipgloss on to make himself look a little better. Masa took the knife, Ryuyo’s notebook, and Pidge’s envelope and laid them on the bed. Then, he grabbed his teddy bear and left his room, locking it tight behind him on the way out.

He didn’t move quickly. In fact, he was hardly moving at all. Every step he took felt as if there were cinder blocks attached to his feet. He felt weak and hopeless- which is to be expected, since he promised himself he wouldn’t sleep until Yuko was avenged. So much for that.

It took Masa forever to make it to the roof of the tower.

Once he made it to open air, he took a moment to gaze at the horizon on all sides of the tower. Then, he slowly trudged to the edge of the roof and stared down at the ground below through the fence.

Then, Masa gripped the teddy bear in his teeth as Masa began to climb. If he could just, make it over this fence and fall, he’d be set. It looked like it was at least ten feet tall, but, hopefully- he could get over it.

Masa was going to go see Yuko again! He even got all gussied up for their reunion. Hopefully, Yuko wouldn’t be mad that he couldn’t figure out who killed Rin and him. It shouldn’t come as a surprise- Masa is not very smart, and he already established that with Yuko at the beginning of their relationship.
