Tofu Dengaku is a classic Japanese dish where tofu is grilled or baked and coated with a sweet and savory miso glaze. It's a delicious and healthy dish that's perfect as an appetizer or main course.
Ingredients: 1 block firm tofu. 2 tablespoons miso paste. 1 tablespoon mirin. 1 tablespoon soy sauce. 1 tablespoon sugar. 1 teaspoon sesame oil. Sesame seeds, for garnish. Chopped green onions, for garnish.
Instructions: Press tofu to remove excess water, then cut into thick slices. In a small bowl, mix miso paste, mirin, soy sauce, sugar, and sesame oil to create the glaze. Preheat oven to 400F 200C. Brush both sides of tofu slices with the miso glaze. Place tofu slices on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Bake for 15-20 minutes, flipping halfway through, until tofu is golden and glazed. Garnish with sesame seeds and chopped green onions before serving.
