He needs to relax.
And he'd heard other students were going to be hanging out at the swimming pool on campus, it'd be relaxing and fun for Izuku to be surrounded by his peers.
What he hadn't expected to see when he got there was Toshinori, sitting on one of the chairs at the edge of the pool. It's not just his presence, shrunken down, at the pool, but his chest has visible scars—other than the scar bunched up at the side of his stomach—that aren't just from battle.
Izuku knows what kind of scar the discolored lines at the edge of Toshinori's pecs are. Because he has the same ones. He doesn't notice his mumbling nor the fact that he's stopped on the other side of the pool, a step from falling in.
And then he feels hands on his shoulders, only when he goes to catch himself with his foot, he ends up falling. Into water.
He knows its Kacchan without even actually looking up. He also knows that Kacchan doesn't give a fuck it's rude, so he just shoots a sharp glare toward his childhood friendvas soon as he surfaces.
When he gets out of the pool, he feels a gaze on him and turning to look, he sees Toshinori staring with wide eyes. When Toshinori realizes he's been caught, he coughs a bit before redirecting his gaze. Izuku smiles softly before going over to his mentor, grabbing a chair on the way.
