best part about being a californian right now is that we have leaders who STAND WITH US. governor gavin newsome played a game of chicken with trump and won while dragging his name, very publicly, through the mud. senator alex padilla got violently handcuffed for asking kristi noem a question at a press conference and afterwards said "if this is what they do to a senator, imagine what they're doing to farmworkers."
like i know that if worst comes to worst and trump doesn't back down to the power held by the incredibly large population of california, which makes up roughly 12% of the nation, who are quite vocally and clearly expressing their anti-trump, anti-ice sentiments, that our elected officials will stand with us.
and if trump really decides to pick a fight with us, it feels good knowing our leadership won't sell us out. it's either he backs down or he risks all out war with california, which has roughly the same population as canada and the 4th largest economy in the world.
hes lucky california even sticks around with the fucking congressional representation skewed SO HEAVILY against us (hello senate) and the electoral college. we give so much tax money to the federal government and for what. taxation without fucking representarion dude.
like california could honestly THRIVE on its own. they're lucky we just wanna save america and not start our own country. dont fucking temp us bro
