Look who appeared on my doorstep last night!! I love him, thank you so much @toastcon @everlarkedalways ♥️♥️
My prize for winning the trivia contest at our inaugural @toastcon. 🤓
Appropriate response to visiting Mellark's bakery! 😄🍞❤
I am a girl of simple needs: I'm just excited to sit down, meet, and chat with everyone at ToastCon. I could be content with that the whole week I think. 💕 Is it a funny/odd experience, putting faces to names and content? Or was it like "oh my gosh I see your personality on and offline this just makes sense"?
Seriously the down time is just as fun as the actual panels and activities.
For me it was nerve wracking at first because I just don't do well with social interaction. I had no idea what to expect anyone to look like except Mega who had sent me a couple pics and Ara because I knew she is filipino. I would almost compare it to what it's like meeting your baby for the first time. You know of them, you've tried to imagine what they might be like but it's strange finally having a real person in front of you, they actually exist instead of being this concept that you've only communicated with abstractly.
It really wasn't until we got through most of the week that I felt like I understood where their personalities shine through in their writing. I don't think it will be quite the same this time having already been through it. I also tend to be pretty closed off in person so it's kinda overwhelming because suddenly this person I've shared a lot of really personal stuff with is standing right in front of me.
@everlarkedalways ?
Okay this my first attempt at editing video so please don’t destroy me. I always wanted to try and thought this was a cool opportunity.

A FAREWELL TO TOASTCON - 2019
On my final night at Toastcon, I laid awake in the wee hours of the morning still struggling to adjust to the different timezones. Without internet service, I managed to find a pen and scrap paper and wrote this in honour of my fellow Toastcon...ers!
Now in a different part of the US, I am able to type and post. I’m hoping my Toastcon sisters can recognise through my cryptic clues, who it is I am referring to, especially themselves.
Please excuse spelling errors and the like. I know it’s not much and probably a stupid way to write a farewell but it was really early in the morning and lack of sleep can make you do dump things. Lol!
~~~~
I silently begin to notch each arrow to the strings of my heart and bid a sad farewell to my fellow Toastcon - Everlark sisters. But each one has a special place deep within.
One by one, they come to say goodbye and my first embrace is to the one that lead us all here.
Her strength of character is what I will remember and in my heart she will always be my courageous lioness. She has brought us together and kept us on the right path and I can’t thank her enough.
~~~
Her light shines in pockets of brightness and flies high like jet-propelled rockets in the sky. Her zest for everything Everlark will be a treasured memory.
~~~
Her stars will glow in the night sky with the brilliance that ties and keeps me in place. Parkour, parkour, parkour.
~~~
Her warmth and calming nature settles my heart as we share a family embrace.
~~~
Her sweet youthful smile is what I take with me. She took on many faces during our time together yet it is this young girl standing in front of me that will always hold a special place in my heart. You have a lot of Aunties now from near and far, who will always be there to cheer and support you along life’s journey.
~~~
Her steps are carefully placed as she slowly approaches, the scent of lavender permeating the cold air. Through the woods and fast flowing waterfalls, we made it to the clearing...together.
~~~
Her Everlark stories I will always treasure along with her 💗 emojis. I will wait patiently to read new words to fill the empty pages of my heart.
~~~
Her confidence and independence is what I see and it shines so brightly that I know she will excel in whatever future pathway she chooses.
~~~
Her quietness I watched from afar and was struck in the arm by her kind nature. I just hope I don’t end up with a bruise.
~~~
Her softly spoken words are like golden whispers and her pure heart and cheerful smile I will truly miss.
~~~
Her (blank) is like rays of (blank) as she navigates (blank) through the winding (blank) ahead. I will (blank) miss her.
~~~
Her joyful laughter fed my heart, sustaining me each and every day. She is true and kind and sweet like a good tasting wine from Caramel Macchiato Mountain. It is this Everlarker I will miss the most.
****
I walk out the front door of the main cabin for the last time and try to keep the flood gates from opening. I see in the short distance, my white carriage waiting to take me from my Toastcon sisters.
As I turn to bid my final farewell, I see on the porch raised hands saluting me. Even though this simple yet significant gesture fills my heart with great joy, the sadness and realisation that I may never see these wonderful people again brings me to tears.
This was indeed an experience of a life-time and I wouldn’t have missed it for the world!

Ok my toastcon friends...
I'm doing a writing course for teachers (think more... how to teach writing). One of the points from last week was, we always tell people/students to write about what they know. But what about wonder? Why don't we write what we wonder?
Is there anything you now wonder about since you've "seen the sights"? And new observations that will influence your writing? What makes you wonder about The Hinger Games now?
