i cannot stop listening to the mars volta. it took awhile for their hooks to really latch onto my gills, but now it's practically all-consuming and i won't shut up about it so i'm gonna post about it here.
none of this is gonna be that interesting, probably. i don't know shit about music and their writing is very very rich. If it's not one of their concept albums, I can only really guess at the meaning behind things based on vibes and listening to songs enough times for my brain to catch up. anyway, I'm listening to Amputechture for the first time and there's a bit near the end of "Day of the Baphomets" where someone goes absolutely wild on some bongos or a djembe or something and it makes me wanna break stuff every time i hear it
