Though sunflowers always turn towards the light, it does not mean they are absent of shadows. And we know that the stronger the light, the stronger are the shadows.Â
Is it cheesy to use motifs associated with the characters to emphasize their personalities? Maybe! But does that stop me? I'm afraid not! ;3

I think it's about time I start posting more doodles and studies of Luna and Sunna, the couple from my new book.😶 And what better way to start it off than showing the dynamic of their relationship. 😂 I just happened to stumble across a flirting meme that depicted it in a nutshell. Of course I couldn't just ignore it. As usual I'm late to follow trends of memes.

Valentine's day is just around the corner so a cheesy doodle of my girls, Sunna and Luna, seems to be the right way to go. The initial draft of their story was so dead serious and lacked a certain sapphic element just like many stories I read before. Which made me question, why am I doing this if I'm not creating something that would be satisfying to read? So I decided to put on paper the story I want to show, and when it's out I hope it's enjoyable to read as it was for me to write it down. :) Sunna Anluan and Luna Selene ("To Mend the Sun's Heart") © Joana Rosa
This is the first of many studies/concept art I did last year as I progressed in the making of Sunna and Luna's story. With the narrative of this romantic thriller being set in a non-fantasy world and more matured, I became aware that I'd have to apply an appropriate style that would connect with the story I want to tell. All while retaining my art style identity. There will be more to give a taste of what's to come. Hope you enjoy! ;3
