I had a lot of fun drawing all of these! Even tho I had some trouble with Mikey last night.

RotTMNT: Lou Jitsu’s Acting + Background

I was waiting for a moment where Splinter would share his acting experiences with his kids. Look how excited he is! He doesn’t see that his kids view Splinter/Dad and Lou Jitsu as separate entities.

It’s also interesting to see here that Leonardo doesn’t see Splinter as his “all time role model or father figure.” A lot of Leo’s remarks come from a place of sarcasm or spite, but I do feel he was being honest here.

I hope we get a some more insight to what Leo’s hang up might be with his dad. Him and Donnie seem to harbor the most resentment for him. Clearly they love their dad, but their relationships are very strained. I mean—Leo has vocalized he believes he is Splinter’s “least favorite son.”

Bonus:

—but he does consider Splinter to his hero, his non-kiddnappy hero (*cough* Baron Draxum greatly disagrees as Lou Jitsu stole his mutant warriors.)

I really do love these wholesome and genuine family moments.
