The fact that Donnie never takes 10 seconds to go "hmm isn't it weird that these three turtles grew up in New York, where I was found, are teenagers, like me, and have a lot of similar markings to me?" fits so criminally well with his canon character.
He is the walking proof behind "he's a genius until he's not." Especially when it comes to people- there's so much he never clocks. It should be such an easy conclusion to come to, but in actuality, it never crosses his mind. Especially after seeing Leatherhead, Slash, and Neutralizer, his only thought on such a topic would be "wow New York sure does have a big mutant reptile/amphibian population."
Someone help this poor turtle. He needs it desperately
