I mean that's kinda in his core but after being praised by the reader genuinely, he seriously acknowledges it and actually admits it to himself instead of denying it. Then he starts showing off while looking at the reader expectantly, waiting for their compliments.
Leo discovered that he likes being praised. This increased his self-esteem, made him once again proud of himself and improve himself. Whatever it was: his training, how he fought on missions and won in battle, when he tried to joke or cook, or when it was related to the series Space Heroes, which he loved to watch. When his brothers or father praised him, he was proud of himself. But he especially liked it when you praised him.
He realized that he liked your praise the most when you sincerely thanked and praised him for saving you. Then you were captured by Shredder's henchmen, and Leo saved you by single-handedly defeating Tiger Claw and showcasing his exceptional ninjutsu skills. "Is everything all right? Are you in pain?" asks the blue-bandaged turtle a little worriedly.
"No. I even enjoyed it. I've been missing this adrenaline. I really like the way you fight and teach. I'd like you to train me. You're a master of ninjutsu, Leo. You have abilities and talent. You can do so many things.
Leo once again felt the sincerity in your praise and felt pride inside himself that he was able to impress you. A fire lit up in his eyes and he wanted to hear your praise over and over again. You were everything to him.
- And more. This is a gift for you for your efforts. - said you and kissed Leo. But not on the cheek as it usually happened, but on the lips. The leader's eyes immediately widened in surprise and he instantly blushed. But soon these feelings were replaced by pleasant sensations. Then Leo realized that you loved him. You loved him not as a friend. And that it was mutual.
