Another Bright kin has already talked about this and I already posted it on Instagram, but I feel it's important to mention this and especially give support.
Honestly now, hope all TMC fans/kins/fictives are doing okay now, you guys DON'T need to leave the fandom for all of this situation. If someone wants to then it's okay, but don't pressure other fans into doing so. You CAN separate the art from the artist and it's NOT your fault that this happened. This hurts now and everyone is talking about it because it's recent, and I'm not sure if people will ignore this in a few months, but you just have to stay strong and just continue doing what you like. There will be mean comments but the block button exists for something
Believe me. I'm a Dr. Bright fan. I KNOW what I'm talking about. I know how it feels to have a lot of people talking shit about your fav thing when they used to "love it", I know how it feels to see your fav thing get deleted from everywhere, I know how it feels to see people replacing your fav thing, I know how it feels to be demonized by a fandom that has been your source of comfort for many years, I know how it feels to be cut off from everywhere just because something you like. And I know how it feels to see your fav artists and content creators who used to make content about your fav thing saying shit about you or your friends for what you like, but all the people who will try to hurt you for your fav thing IS NOT WORTHY. No matter how much you like them or their art or anything. THEY'RE NOT WORTHY OF YOUR ATTENTION. They are toxic and fake people who you should stay away in any situation. So try to be around people you know they won't judge you, be around other fans who also need support. Put boundaries and DNIs involving this type of people (if they can put DNIs for you and things you like, why wouldn't you do the same?). Don't pretend to be another hater just for clout and not getting ignored by your "idols", and if any of those "idols" blocks you for posting something your like, again, they were not worth it at all. The people who will interact positively will be the people you need and actually want to be around.
Again. As a Dr. Bright fan, I perfectly know what I'm talking about.

You know with the whole Bright controversy and the more recent TMC issue I’m kinda curious to see the divide in thinking between older fandom millennials/older Gen Z and the younger Gen Z when it comes to separating the art from the artist. I might start a poll of sorts to gather data the problem is most of Tumblr skews young so it wouldn’t be that fair and I might have to expand elsewhere, maybe Reddit. 🤔

I love seeing people talking what they’d do if they were part of the Mandela Catalogue universe. Like good for them, I wouldn’t even notice that anything was going on. My sleep deprived, memory loss having short ass would get myself killed and not even by an alternate. I’d probably say or do something dumb and suspicious and get shot by the police.
Just logged onto Twitter to see one of Alex Kister’s “victims” attempting to drag their name and all their hard work through the mud for attention. Most of these alleged “victims” are young so I’m not sure whether they realize they’ve been manipulated by Alex’s Ex or not. But it’s very clear to most people that Ven (Alex’s Ex) skewed these young peoples opinion’s on Alex’s words without having any evidence of Alex’s actual intentions. Just for reference Alex made suggestive comments towards some of their Ex’s (Ven’s) outfits and Ven then decided to manipulate these “victims” by saying that Alex was being inappropriate towards them for simply giving them compliments on their outfits because apparently Alex had some sort of “fetish” for clothing, which is probably the biggest reach I’ve seen in a long time. I think most adults can realize that broad things like clothing can be suggestive with partners and in private but that doesn’t mean all clothing is inherently s*xual nor does that mean a person views all clothing as such. These people whom Ven manipulated are young so it’s understandable they wouldn’t be able to grasp such concepts, we can only hope they learn soon and stop dragging Alex’s name through the mud on behalf of their toxic ex Ven.
The only thing Alex was actually guilty of was trauma dumping on a minor which they were doing because of Ven being borderline abusive. Overall Alex may not be a standup person but the actions of their ex were much worse and I think people need to focus on that more. Maybe Alex can start a lawsuit or something, Ven would definitely deserve it but unless that happens people need to be more aware of the situation and stop simply going along with whatever people on Twitter tell them too.
