Do you think we will ever get rap music again or are will stuck with English singles and ballads for all eternity?
I THINK WE’LL GET RAP MUSIC (thank God). It’s sad how dynamite/butter/ptd had absolutely ZERO longevity. Lmaoo I really hope HYBE doesn’t think their mass-purchased #1s are a sign of what listeners actually want. They should learn to distinguish between “fans who stream for BTS” and “fans who listen for good music”. It would be a travesty, an abomination, a entirely missed opportunity if their next album doesn’t have a rapline only track.
Also, BTS’s spotify streams are no longer an indicator of good music anymore. Maybe in the past, but these days you have solo stans who stream (or purchase streams) for their bias. So, there’s no longer a true scale of authenticity (at least when it comes their newer songs). It’s so funny because when people first introduce someone to BTS, it’s always a rapline song that they recommend or an OT7 rapline heavy song. It’s also always a rapline song that they bring up in fanwars as “evidence that BTS makes good music” or “write their own music”. So people are aware of raplines’ contributions, they’re just too attached to their giant egos and respective vocal line biases to acknowledge it. But, I digress.
Last year (around butter promotions), Yoongi mentioned that we should look toward to more hip-hop tracks in their future albums. The fact that he even brought it up means they probably already have something in the works for their next album (which by now we know they record monthssss in advance). ALSO, last year TM88 (popular producer for a lot of hip-hop artists) mentioned he got an “email from BTS” (in a now deleted tweet). He’s been looking forward to working with BTS for a while now (since 2018), so again I can CONFIDENTLY say we should expect a 100% hip-hop track (think UGH! CYPHER, TEAR) in the next album.
