Hey, just wanted to share this page of doodles of my favorite moments from the past few chapters of Last Minute Encore as I’m working on the base sketch for Vox’s “Night on the town” outfit that I’ll be working on later… buuut I was in a creative mood so made some extra stuff. Hope you enjoy :3
These are so good!!!!
Angry Shok.wav in the corner is adorable and I love besotted Baxter. The evil besties hug is very sweet 💜💜💜
Thank you so much for drawing this and sharing it! Let me know when the final version is posted and I’ll link it on the next chapter, as long as that’s ok with you. I have the biggest smile on my face right now.
WIP - TLME Chapter 20
WIP - TLME Chapter 19
Alastor putting all of his attention on this picture box, with no end in sight, no distractions...Vox's nightmare bc there's also no comraderie between them. No previous relationship. Alastor is even more of a wild card! And he wants to make a deal? What for? He's powerful enough! There's no way he's making another deal when the other went so bad lol.
Would he put it together, Alastor's deal? Or did it slip his mind in the chaos that followed after? In TLME, he realized when Alastor confronted him in his bedroom and the deal broke right before his eyes...but that's not happening bc there IS no deal (anymore.) The only way he'd know is if Al or Rosie told him. (I can see times when Alastor accidentally--or not--let it slip.)
Would Vox even realize that he's considered 'the strongest sinner'? It's not like there's a little crown lmao so it's just Alastor stalking him out of nowhere (to Vox) like WHY?
I wonder how much Vox's empire would change with his boost in power. 🤔 He has a lot more of it to throw around here. (Fun thought but solid holograms would seem like it's own type of magic in the 1950s, only seen in books, I think. And visually, it seems like Velvette is the only one whose power looks vidually similar.) Plus, how much of a vacuum is there from Alastor's overlord purging over the last 20 years? In the present (future), it seems to have been stable for awhile, with Velvette being the newest.
Wish we knew more about that time in Hell, Alastor's reign of terror is so interesting to think about.
Follow up from this ask!
Poor Vox not realising that the more he tried to stay away the more interested (obsessed) Alastor gets. To be fair he's never had to deal with this situation before, he's usually the one doing the chasing so why would he think that Alastor would do the same? No deals at all. Nope. That's the word to send him fleeing for the hills.
I think eventually he'd realise that Alastor's deal had something to do with being the strongest based on what Charlie said at the end of S2 and Alastor in this timeline being so intrigued with his strength/power. Alastor might let slip that he feels like he owes Vox for getting him out of an unfortunate mistake from his human life but I don't think he'd realise it's Rosie who held the chain unless either of them told him.
Vox would brush off Alastor's initial interest as mildly amused by the new sinner with signal and frequency abilities and only put together the whole strongest thing once he works stuff out about the deal.
He'd have a much easier time building his empire this time around! He knows what not to do, what alliances to make, what deals to make (no Alastor ones of course), what moves will pay off and what won't and he has seventy years of living in Hell this time around. He knows how stuff works and is absolutely going to take advantage of that.

Chapters: 21/? Fandom: Hazbin Hotel (Cartoon) Rating: Teen And Up Audiences Warnings: No Archive Warnings Apply Relationships: Alastor/Vox (Hazbin Hotel) Characters: Vox (Hazbin Hotel), Alastor (Hazbin Hotel), Velvette (Hazbin Hotel), Valentino (Hazbin Hotel), Charlie Magne | Morningstar, Hazbin Hotel Ensemble Additional Tags: Time Travel, Fluff and Angst, Mutual Pining, Requited Alastor/Vox (Hazbin Hotel), Miscommunication, Post-Season/Series 02, Competent Vox (Hazbin Hotel), Enemies to Lovers, Slow Burn, Alastor Can't Control Alastor's Shadow (Hazbin Hotel), Enemies to Friends to Lovers, Misunderstandings Summary:
The Might of Lilith explodes and Vox has a front row seat to the destruction he has wrought.
Except he's not dead. He's alive in his office and watching Charlie Morningstar's disastrous interview live on screen, exactly one year before Pentagram City is reduced to ash.
He can work with this. All he has to do is stay away from that stupid hotel for a year and everything will be fine.
Unfortunately, a certain Radio demon has opinions about his old pal ignoring his return.
. if you were to rewrite your time travel fic but this time solely from alastor pov (like vox is still the only one that time travels not alastor but the fic is still fully alastor pov) how do you think it might change?
Interesting question.
I think the earlier chapters would show him slowly starting to realise that something is off about Vox, something has changed and he really doesn't like it but he can't go investigate like he wants because he's tied to the hotel via his deal with Rosie. A lot of emotions bubbling away that he has to hide from everyone else. He was looking forward to clashing with Vox again, to fighting on the airwaves, and to soak in the attention that his picture box always provided him with. There would be a lot of 'this event should have happened but why not' from him and the readers knowing that in canon that's how it went.
Alastor's temper starts to flare. He doesn't like when people don't act like he expects and he knows Vox better than anyone. Then the extermination happens and he's even more confused because why did Vox help him if he's been ignoring him this whole time? There's a part of him that's touched by the care and protection but he pushes it deep, deep down because he's the Radio Demon and how dare that frivolous TV see him in such a vulnerable state.
Then the big finale at the end of part one and his deal breaking. After that it would focus on Alastor's glee at being freed, one taunting conversation with Rosie and then a second when he gets his staff repaired and agrees to stay with the hotel for a month, but what he's most looking forward to is prying the truth out of Vox, still believing things can return to normal. (Secretly troubled about the look on Vox's screen after the chain broke and what the other Overlord thinks of him now that he knows at least some of the truth about the deal).
Obviously the hotel gang would feature more prominently in Alastor's POV, Husk would make at least one snarky comment about Vox avoiding him and get punished for it, Vaggie really doesn't like him destroying the pylons and confronts him about it and I think there would be a conversation between Angel and Alastor about the Vees as he tries to put together what happened in the seven years that he'd been away that caused Vox to change. Charlie would notice something was wrong after how irate Alastor got at the news that Vox was fighting some nobody from the Doomsday District.
It would be also very clear that the obsession/pining goes both ways. Vox is his, his special thing that he chose for himself, the one who can match him and doesn't fear him, the one whose signal used to blend so perfectly with his even during their worst fights, the one constant in his afterlife and Alastor is finally free to act on his own desires. He just doesn't realise how much Vox has slipped through his fingers until that scene at Zestial's and then it's time for him to do the chasing.
Picturing Alastor intently searching for this new "strongest" sinner. He has suspicions after awhile, but they all get narrowed down to 1 person: Vox. And it's not because he was obvious or reckless about his power. He contained himself (somewhat.) It's not bc he was gaining influence, bc sinners do that all the time, trying to be overlords. Some of them are even quick at it, too.
No, it's bc he's too good at avoiding Alastor. He can't pin him down. He's trying too hard to not meet him face-to-face. He's able to sense his shadows, his powers. I can imagine that Vox is keeping his signal quiet, but he can still sense Alastor's. (That'd be a surprise one day, Alastor finding out about Vox's frequency.) It must be Vox bc how else would a new sinner bc able to avoid him so well. It must be the power discrepancy.
Alastor doesn't know it's bc Vox knows him unequivocally, knows most if not all of his usual tricks.
Side note: having Vox be the strongest sinner in a past where he knows Alastor already, and Alastor being the one to pursue him? I kinda like the flip in the dynamic. For once, Alastor isn't the strongest, enigmatic and aloof, scary demon. He's a powerful overlord, yes, but Vox is stronger and knows more than he let's on. He's the enigma this time.
The thought of Vox using him for power, to get higher up the food chain, probably wouldn't have the chance to occur to him in this world. Bc he's already at the top, he can get all that himself. Actually, Alastor wonders if that's why Vox is so cautious around him. Does he fear that Alastor wants his power?
It would also just be the two of them for once; no Valentino or Velvette yet, no hotel. Husk and Niffty might be around but it's not like they got involved with the rivalry apart from to keep Val and Vel occupied so that Alastor could seduce convince Vox to make a deal with him.
Vox counting down the years until his friends die on earth while trying to avoid Alastor. Alastor who is completely free much earlier than in the show and who has no obligations to the hotel, and is so deeply intrigued by Vox that he just has to know more.
And Vox thought that he was the best stalker in Hell :D
Overlord meetings quickly devolve into Alastor trying to pin down Vox in one place for a friendly chat while Vox desperately tries to escape.
