looking at the ted lasso casting announcements and they've cast a nonbinary actor (rex hayes) presumably for the women's team. fascinated to see if they've decided to take a stance on trans people in sport, especially since the FA recently banned trans women from playing, and given everything going on in the US atm. obviously casting a nonbinary actor is not the same thing but it's adjacent enough that it would be difficult to avoid discussing, if they're playing a nonbinary character that is. idk, i found their queer rep in season 3 to be fairly pedestrian (as much as I love the characters I have many criticisms about how the queer storylines were handled overall) so the potential for them to tackle trans folk in sports makes me more anxious than excited.
