(ocean) bloom by Radiohead & Hans Zimmer
Radiohead’s Bloom came out in 2011′s The King Of Limbs. I remember being thrown out of whack listening to it - unsure what to make of it at the time. Several years later, the songs on the album grew on me. I became more comfortable with, appreciating the rhythm on rhythms and little quirks. Bloom is a marvellous song, and to see Hans Zimmer and Radiohead come together for this heartstopping version, (ocean) bloom, is just phenomenal itself. There isn’t any final version released but this YouTuber did a fine job isolated the track from the David Attenborough narration on the Blue Planet II video.
Bloom (Jamie xx Rework Part 3) by Radiohead & Jamie xx
The 2017 Hans Zimmer rework reminded me of another great rework of Bloom by Jamie xx, who is one of my all-time favorites. (It’s pretty crazy to know that Zimmer and Jamie both have their versions of the same Radiohead song!)
The original Bloom (Jamie xx Rework) came in TKOL1234567 - the companion remix album to Limbs. This final version came out a little after with our boy Jamie deciding to go all out mental with the steel pans - solid decision mate. Jamie’s even gone on to say this song is the one he’s most proud of making.
