So during a normal playthrough there are hints scattered around which indicates that Flowey is secretly informing, and to some extent manipulating, Papyrus throughout the game. From Sans believing that someone is using Echo Flowers to prank his brother, to Papyrus opening his phone dialogue after Alphys’ date with a “Howdy”; a greeting used most notably by Asgore and Flowey.
Flowey even tells after you beat him enough times that Papyrus is he’s favourite and how they’re close enough (which don’t take much) that Papy’ started a Flowey Fan Club not only in this timeline, but in previous ones as well.
So of course I had to make it sad.
