A Message to Parents
Hey, I’m not coming on here saying your a bad parent, I’m giving some advice that will benifit you and your kid. A lot of parents worry about what can they do to protect their kid when they’re not around, well don’t start worrying when they’re old enough to leave the house, put them in martial arts, or teach them effective fighting techniques at a young age.
I know parents can and will be concerned about how their kid will act now that they know how to fight, but whats the worst that can happen? A bully giving your kid a wedgie and your kid doing nothing, or your kid defending himself before that happens? I know many kids will just go and start fighting other kids now that they can fight, that’s where you’ve got to teach them to not fight unless they need to defend themselves.
Pedophiles can be a huge scare, when your kid gets older (knowing how to fight) give them a legal sized knife, teach them to not use it on other people their age. Believe me, having a knife as a teenager (what I am) makes me feel a lot safer even walking down my own neighborhood, and knowing how to use it makes me less afraid.
I know there are kids out there who are violent, and prone to misbehaviour, but martial arts is a good way to get your kid to release all that built up anger, teach respect, self-control, perseverance (oh man I’m going off what I was taught now...). And it’s great excersive.
I urge you, do what my dad did and put your kid in martial arts, they’ll love you in the future for it, and a knife doesn’t make for a bad 13th birthday gift, boy or girl.
