Summer Break Ideas
I collected several ideas to keep you busy during the summer break. There are many similar posts floating around tumblr rn so I tried my best to make some unique and fun ones.
1. Lettering. It’s a very popular and pretty type of calligraphy now. You can use special brush pens for it or you can practice some faux calligraphy which looks the same but needs fewer props.

2. Improve your handwriting. Prepare yourself for the new semester and improve your handwriting skills to make your future notes looking even better.

3. Volunteering. It’s not only great for your community and soul but it’s gonna look good on your resume as well. Ideas for volunteering:
local churches
homeless shelters
animal shelters
nursing homes
This where I usually volunteer. You can just call your local places and ask them do they offer some volunteering opportunities.
4. Start preparing for you college application if you graduate in a year.
Check what colleges you want to apply to
Check what are their requirements
They might require an essay or resume or whatever but you can be ahead of everyone and do activities like volunteering that they require in advance.
5. Start preparing for grad school if you graduate in a year
Same as the previous one. Every uni is different so you can work on each application and complete grad exams, essays, resume, or whatever in advance.
6. Redecorate your room
Repaint your walls or just one wall as an accent
Change curtains or sheets
Move your furniture around
Hang some fairy lights (they change everything!)
Print some new pictures and create a mood board
Adopt some plants
7. Learn how to take good pictures and practice
Check out this YouTube channel. They have amazing tips to upscale your photography skills even if you’re a beginner.
8. Start working out. Don’t tell me that you don’t need to be fit or you don’t like working out. Everyone should work out at least 3 times a week. It’s extremely beneficial for your health, mood, intellect, self-control, motivation, etc. There’re so many ways that you can work out. I inserted some links to YT channels that I like and use.

These are just major examples but they branch out. It’s even better to mix them up. For example, I warm up with pilates or cardio, then do lifting, and then cool down with yoga. I’m starting calisthenics as well.
Try different things, experiment, and you’ll definitely find something you love. Summer is a great time to become stronger especially that you sit all day in a classroom during school time. This is the first summer in my life that I work out consistently almost every day, and I feel so much stronger, happier, and I’m proud of myself which brings my confidence up.
9. Grow some herbs on your window sill. It’s a great idea bc you’ll have your own organic garden with fresh herbs. And it’s pretty too.
10. Walk an hour or more every day. Walking is so so healthy! It has way more benefits than running. Take advantage of your free time and walk. You can listen to music and walk in the park or you can do it on a treadmill in your gym.
11. Visit your relatives you didn’t see a long time. We never have time for that but summer is a great opportunity to refresh old relationships.
12. Improve your flexibility. It’s also beneficial for your health. It’ll reduce risks of injuries. Also, it feels so good and relaxing to stretch.
13. Learn how to play the ukulele. A ukulele is a pretty cheap instrument and as I heard it’s pretty easy to master. You’ll definitely become the coolest friend if you can play the ukulele. That’s something I wanna learn myself so bad bc I love how it sounds.
14. Sell your old belongings. Get rid of your old stuff!
