Dear Kathryn,
I know what you've been saying about me, and I know you're going to read this. But this is an open letter.Â
Just to recap, you've been saying, as I have heard from a friend who is no longer mine, that I "took your virginity, and then dumped you," and that I was "only after sex." This letter exists to point how that is not, in any way, true.Â
Let's break down these claims:
The word "took" - It is difficult to fully disagree with that word, because it is true, I did take it. It's mostly the connotation of that word which I disagree with, because it implies theft, when in truth, it couldn't have been more freely given. Or did you forget? That you were the one talking it up all the time, that it was always your suggestion, that you bought the condoms, and that you told me, who was nervous and asked about 5 times, that it was okay. Your virginity was not taken from you, it was freely given, and I accepted.Â
The next problem lies in the implication that it only happened once, that I just took your virginity and then dumped you. There are a few problems there. The first is as stated above - condoms. Plural, for the more than one occasion that the aforementioned sex happened on.
Dumped - implies that there was very little reason for it, which i had plenty of. Actually, in the time since, you have gotten even more abrasive, and less likable, which is part of why I moved on so quickly. But, back to the "then", you were starting fights for no reason. Telling my best friends and 22 followers on tumblr (of who approximately 5 noticed the post, and 2 interpreted it correctly) that, after 21 months, we had finally had sex, was apparently close to the end of the world. You then spurned my desires of cuddling at Chris's house, and then made it my fault because there happened to be girls next to me on the floor, which had kind of turned into a giant cuddle-party, and where girls and guys were evenly numbered, but I didn't to go near Chris and Dana (no offense).Â
Then - implies immediacy in the "dumping", which there wasn't. We had sex for the first time approximately 2 weeks before I broke up with you. Which I would not say counts as immediate. There was at least enough time for other things to happen that invariably led to the break up.
only after sex - laughable, at best. If I had only wanted sex, I wouldn't have gotten back together with you the second or third times. I would have gone and fucked Nicole, and it would have been sex. But I wanted you, so I came back, and I dealt with your shit, your insanity, your immune problems, your difficulty facing them, and your lack of self worth for a following 17 months. Then you just made it too hard to care.
It's kind of obnoxious how pretty my girlfriend is. Especially since she's not *actually* here....
