Anecdote Time 😊💙
Sooo, every rainy season I try to rescue tadpoles and help them grow into strong little frogs. It’s super fun finding these little guys in shallow puddles! They’re SUPER low maintenance, anywho...
While on a lunch break at work I was sitting at the park by the office. Well there’s an open lot near by and I see a 3ft wide puddle. Like before with the seashell, something was telling me to go take a look.
Well, as I walk over I see a BUNCH of tadpoles swimming around in the super shallow hole. They were pretty developed but without legs so they’d die out once the puddle dried up. I poured out my water bottle and scooped as many as I could get (7 or so.)
After further observation i noticed these fellas were NOT tadpoles but actually Tadpole Shrimp. These guys are basically a living fossil and have a life span of a few weeks in the wild or couple months in captivity.
I got a shallow container and transferred them over and this little guy posed for a pic! He seems to be the most active. The rest kind of just move around the dirt and swish around at the bottom 😍
Listen to your gut, and trust your instincts
💚🦐✨
