In my opinion, all records before April 15, 1947 when Jackie Robinson integrated Major League Baseball should have asterisks next to them. The tragedy of segregationist baseball robbed us all of regular meetings between Satchel Paige and Babe Ruth, seeing Cool Papa Bell swiping bases on Bill Dickey, or Ty Cobb facing Smokey Joe Williams multiple times a year. The list goes on and on. Its a travesty that Oscar Charleston will not get due credit as the true GOAT because he didn’t bat against the likes of Babe Ruth, Walter Johnson, Dazzy Vance or Dizzy Dean. For this 100th Anniversary of Negro League Baseball, I tip my cap to the incredible men and women who played and paved the way for a better baseball, and an improved world. #tipmycap #tippingmycap #tippingyourcap @negroleaguebaseball @nlbmprez (at The Hague, Netherlands) https://www.instagram.com/p/CCDyi_Xl3SX/?igshid=1ruh3plfdw2q9
