“…I had a wonderful epiphany this weekend. For quite sometime now I have let the world wear me down without even realizing it… I witnessed how poorly people treated one another, I heard the horror stories, I felt hurt by friends… and I let it make me jaded. I started to doubt the goodness of others, and it began to influence my behavior. I became less trusting, less kind, less generous and indirectly… less happy.

And absolutely nothing eventful happened this weekend to bring this enlightenment. I mean literally nothing, maybe between laying at the pool or cleaning my apartment I started to think about the things that make me happy, the relationships I have with others, and the direction I wanted them to go. I started to realize I need to do better. I am very much guilty of letting others feelings/opinions/moods dictate my interactions towards them, and as much as that is a human reaction, that just isn’t me or isn’t how I would like to conduct myself. One of my favorite things to hear is the positive way the people I care about describe me (read: ego boost). and yes, I will always be the rational, logical, good advice giving friend.. but I also want to be the caring, generous, dependable and happy one too. so back to the basics!” - @vanessarioux

"Faith"

Normally, when faith is brought up, the first thing that comes to mind is God and or religion; absolutely nothing wrong with either, but let us not forget about faith as it pertains to us and our abilities, interests, missions, initiatives, goals, and so forth.

Faith in self.

Do you have faith in yourself? Do you have faith in your work? Do you have faith in the things you’re working towards? I ask myself these things, …sometimes I’m 100% on board and sometimes the answer is no. It’s also necessary to determine if our interests are worthy of our faith (and commitment), if we determine they aren’t, we should probably shift focus to something more worthy.
