bororoは旅する宝石商。宝石を求めて、世界を旅してきました。アフリカの奥地、南米の山奥から中東の砂漠...出向く先々で、さまざまな人や文化と出会いました。 bororoのジュエリーにはいろいろな旅の記憶が宿っていますが、いつかかたちにしたいと思うモチーフがありました。それが魔除けです。 それぞれの民族や部族に伝わる装飾品や入れ墨には、魔除けの意味を持つものも多くあります。シャーマンから手渡される石やサンゴが、大切なお守りとして身につけられる様子を目にしてきました。動物の牙、骨、角、ときには石を削り磨き上げ身体に直接突き刺し魔除けとして身につける姿に、装飾品としてのジュエリーにはない野生的な力強さを感じ、心惹かれました。 tiny wildは、旅で出会った魔除けの記憶をモチーフにしたピアスです。現代を生きる人々の、身体の奥底に眠るほのかな野生を呼びさますような。あるいは、日々を生きるための小さな勇気になるような。そんな願いを込めています。 今回新作の初お披露目をCIBONE CASEギャラリースペース @cibone_tokyo にて開催します。 会場では、デザイナーの赤地明子が旅のなかで手に入れた、さまざまな旅のお守りも展示します。 bororo, a traveling jeweler, explores the world in search of gems. In the African outback, in the mountains of South America, and in the Middle Eastern deserts, she has met unique people and diverse cultures. bororo's jewelry represents a wealth of memories from each voyage. There has always been a motif that the designer, Akiko, wanted to share with you: amulets. Traditional ornaments and tattoos passed down to the next generation in each nation and each tribe encompasses many good-luck charms. Small stones and pieces of corals shamans hand over are worn with care as an amulet. The sight of people wearing animal tusks, bones, horns, and sometimes piercing a sharply filed stone directly into their body as a charm was striking.
