The squishâs hair: A note on itâs âtextureâ,âfeelingâ and Composition.
Raeâs hair is at itâs most âsolidâ state towards its roots and is seemingly more like liquid midway all the way down to its ends. Though this is how it appears, its actually âcontained.â Hair is usually solid through and through but Raeâs is hollow inside each âstrandâ and each âstrandâ is actually more akin to several strands bunched into one in size. The hair itself is transparent, its the contents inside of it that give it its unique colouring, hence why the colouring changes from various hues in the blue/green range. Its directly tied to her internal ecosystem and due to that itâll sometimes show some of the aquatic life she has hosted in there. You can see some little fishies swimminâ in her hair when she does have them in her ecosystem. Other times you might see âfragmentsâ of coral or other sea life that sheâs picked up and she is prone to growing aquatic flora in it.Â
Concerning how it feels/ its texture: Its actually remarkably soft and light in comparison to what one would think it would be. Most donât even consider it possible to touch her hair and not have it just wade around their hands, but its entirely corporeal though in some instances it will just kind of melt away from touch. This is due to her ability to alter her appearance in a lot of ways and one of those ways is the length/style of her hair. When someone spends too much time touching her hair or if she doesnât want them doing so, sheâll shorten it to just above their hands and the result is a sudden release of water as the strands recede away from their touch. She does this as a warning: donât touch or youâll get soaked.Â
