IKR I love this.

All the empty space in season 13. It’s a GIFT. It’s even a CHARACTER. Like…!

Who knows when, I’m going with some time around season 11, the booty shorts car washing era when Cas was hanging around the bunker ;)

In season 9 Dean gets a second bedside table and lays on one side of the bed, a huge glaring empty space on the other but he kicked Cas out and it came to nothing. In season 11 he’s parading around the bunker in booty shorts when Cas is there, so yeah I totally put this as a potential “come on Cas, indulge me, come on it’s my favourite movie!” flirting period. I can just imagine it alongside the “call it a Werepire, come on Cas ;)” stuff you know?

It’s great isn’t it, like, all the random little things we know. It feels like we know the little things and that makes it easier to know really who they are. I said last year that I wished we knew more of those things about Sam and we are getting more, it’s great!

It’s inferred Cas likes to use emoticons when he texts, Sam’s interests are kinda wacky, Dean actually owns his own cowboy hat he brought to Dodge and he has a proper wrestling, cowboy and doctor fetish (I mean let’s throw firefighter in there too for Cas’ halloween outfit when he’s human and they’re together in the end, I mean, he would totally get those HIP BONES in a shirtless suspenders fireman outfit, jeez he’d be dressed and undressed 3 times before they just decide fuck it they’re not even gonna bother leaving the bunker.

I live for more of these. Seriously Dabb era is a GIFT. They’re giving us all the stuff I’ve been saying I wanted, like… I am in awe!

Some of them end up canon which is cool, like last year’s Lucifer is Jack’s father but Cas is his dad heyyyyooo but yeah most are just cracky fun :D

I have a tag actually #team free will headcanons !

things like...

- Sam moonwalks in the showers in the bunker singing (badly) and Dean likes to hear him from the kitchen while he’s making breakfast, it makes him feel like his little brother is happy and care free and it makes his heart warm

- Dean is super clean and tidy and gets really annoyed  when Sam leaves his shit lying around but Sam is the one who actually takes the garbage out and does a lot of the grocery shopping

- When Cas is human he and Sam go jogging in the mornings together (and Dean will be adamant that Cas have a shower after before he comes near him buuut on occasion when they’re about to change the sheets anyway he likes it a little sticky and sweaty so he grabs him quick and pulls him back to bed for a quickie while Sam goes to shower and they can be as loud as they like from the other end of the bunker)

- Netflix evenings include Sam with a huge bowl of candy which he shares with Cas, though Cas also likes raisinettes and Dean with a huge bowl of salty and sweet popcorn (of course). Sam sprawls on one side of the L shaped couch whilst Dean and Cas smoosh together on the other.

- Sam totally gets a dog and Dean acts all annoyed at first but really he loves him to bits, though NOT when he jumps on the bed first thing in the morning when Cas leaves the door open having gone for his jog. He always gets up to feed him anyway :)

Oh I’m sure Cas is not the first guy he has developed a crush on! Some people saw bi!dean from the start, way before Cas was even introduced in the show, it’s been there all along under the surface.

Dr Sexy is the most obvious but if you mean in real life… then yeah I think there’s strong indications that things have happened in the past although there is nothing that makes it canon just yet (though I strongly feel this is coming and season 13 post 12x22 is the strongest potential moment so far, I don’t want to say it is happening in season 13, just that it could now, that path has been paved, but it also could be drawn out, so let’s see).

The strongest indications are of course things like the wink at the guys followed by the lost hour in the bathroom in the benders in the earlier seasons, a lot of subtextual stuff going on with Ash, Aaron etc and then later all the Drowley references, the triplets, the casual way Crowley says Dean could fit the soul bomb up his ass, the way he’s rubbed off all over him…

I mean, take every time Dean’s inhibitions come down because he’s drugged or cursed or whatever - every single time he says / does stuff that implies he likes men! When he’s roofied in The Purge: salty and sweet, best of both worlds, when he’s drugged up at Biggersons: talks about missing Cas being the thing he’s the most hung up on and how he really liked Ranger Rick, flirting with the deputy when he’s got ghost sickness, riding Larry whilst being fully himself but then fanboying over Cas and being kind of up for a m/f/m threeway while watching a cartoon cum shot on tv…. I mean…

He’s DYING to let it out, it comes rushing out every time his walls come down, jeez!!!

Basically in my opinion it is not canon in terms of seen on screen or said out loud “I have had a boyfriend and/or sex with men” in the show that Dean has done so, BUT it is heavily implied and it’s another part of the subtext that is extremely important to his character and imo, likely will come out by the end.

Personally based on the story so far I doubt Dean has had a romantic longish term relationship with a man (besides Crowley, which was, let’s say, not particularly romantic and not entirely Dean), but he clearly has had sexual encounters at least with Crowley and most likely with others too.

Re: a romantic relationship, they could either leave it as I believe it is implied so far, that Dean has always been attracted to men but just found it easier to stick to women whom he also found attractive due to internalised homophobia or they could decide to retcon to make it canon that this had happened when he was young, perhaps with something then making him see this as bad and pushing it away, just as happened metaphorically with the cake in 10x12, or in the time when he was away from John, to expose the story further. 

I doubt however based on his personality that he would have entered a romantic relationship with a man whilst around John or during the time we have seen him over the last 12 years so it would likely need to be either as a youngster, similar to Bad Boys or in the time when Sam was at Stanford and John let Dean go off hunting alone.

I headcanon that he is jealous that Sam got to read them and he didn’t. It was just out of his time-frame, I grew up with them myself, I think I was around 18 when the last one came out and am now 29 where he is … 38? He would have been considered “too old for those kids books”.

He would have liked to read them, they’re totally his thing, but he wasn’t able to, it wasnt well see as a late teen, one who tried so hard to be a dude bro too, to read “those kids books”, so he bought or stole them for Sam who loved them and he has been bitter about it since, not that it’s Sam’s fault… 

It’s just another in the long line of things Dean has given up or repressed due to his internalised issues and probably because John or someone in his environment at an early age told him “is that for Sam cos you’re too old to be reading that” when he first turned up with the book, regardless of whether it was for Sam in the first place or not, he then never did read it.

On the other hand if he ever does in the future come out and say actually I totally get a reference cos I did read them (but I don’t think we have had any where he referenced them? Only times when he didn’t understand I think?), then I headcanon he did actually end up getting the chance to read them at Sonny’s where he did a lot of the things that he always wanted to do but never got to in his normal environment…

(the djinn dream is all about Dean’s own bad view of himself, not who he really would be so don’t worry!).

He himself said he wanted to be a fireman because of his mom obviously, but I think he also has a real potential as a teacher / doctor / nurse.

He’s clearly very clever and capable, he deep down wants to help people and he’s good with kids so any of these I think work well. 

The mechanic one is obvious because of canon but also… Baby is for sure something he loves but also it has the negative connotations of being a part of his emulation of his father so I personally don’t like it so much.

He also loves Dr Sexy… for so many reasons but also I think this fits this as part of his escapism.

You mean when did I realise or when did they fall in love?I think Cas realised that what he felt towards Dean was love when he was human and Dean realised he was in love with Cas in purgatory.

I realised that there was something between them in 4x07, but though it was mostly just UST from Dean’s side, that they probably wouldn't make it a really big part of the actual story, then when Cas rebelled and changed his mind in 4x22 I though Cas was now being potrayed as falling for Dean too. I thought they would probably have some kid of subtextual thing going on but in 5x01 with “I did it, all of it, for you”, 5x03 etc I though oh ok no they are actually going to make this a romantic love story in the show, cool! It fits both their character stories so that makes total sense!

Little did I know the hell I was to experience, being dragged into the longest drawn out love story ever told...
