This goes for all dating sites, but I thought this would be the most relevant.

In general:

1.  Guys swipe right to everybody.  We have been told this by guys or by the media. 

2. We expect guys to message first. Since we assume #1, at least messaging first shows some interest.

3. Saying some version of “hey beautiful/sexy/etc” is not going to draw our attention. Try to be original/funny/clever. 

4. Pick up lines aren’t a no-go. See #3.

5. Don’t let the conversation die off... or if it does, bring it back. Otherwise, we think you can’t hold a conversation or you aren’t interested enough to do so. And we will stop thinking about you.

6. We KNOW that not all guys on Tinder are single. Don’t think you can pull one over on us, we know.

7. Don’t lie about stuff... if it goes somewhere then it will come back to bite you.

Regarding the pictures - we usually look at all of them before swiping.

1. If you only have one picture, that’s the only “good” picture you have, and this is weird

2. If you don’t have any pictures showing your face, you must have something horribly unattractive about your face

3. If you aren’t smiling in any picture... a. you have bad teeth AND/OR b. you are trying to look tough (which is stupid)

4. If you don’t have any pictures wearing decent clothes (=business casual at minimum), we can’t take you seriously and think that you don’t have a job

5. We make assumptions about everything... pics with kids? must be yours. pic of you with a bride, must be married. etc.etc.

6. No picture at all ... a. you’re horribly unattractive AND/OR b. you’re married

Regarding profiles - first of all, we typically read them.

1. No profile means either a. you’re boring AND/OR b. you’re lazy. Neither of these are a good thing.

2. If you put all of your IG, Twitter, kik, etc usernames then you are desperate for attention. We are not gonna take the time to go follow you.
