DOCTOR WHO SPOILERS AHEAD!!!!
Wasn't as scandalous as I thought since every post I managed to glance at that didn't spoil things had a title along the lines of "DOCTOR WHO NEEDS TO SIT IN A CORNER AND THINK ABOUT WHAT IT'S DONE AND STEP ON A LEGO AND CATCH FIRE" or stuff like that.
I had already spoiled myself with Billie Piper being the sixteenth doctor (even though she might not be, actually) but after a while I realized there was going to be much more than just that to spoil. What I didn't know about was just how butchered Omega's appearance and Belinda's development had been. Like, I barely even knew about Omega before this so I didn't really care, but still. You can't just resolve a huge conflict like a guy called THE MAD GOD after thirty seconds you encounter it. Pokemon battles on Nintendo last longer than that
Belinda was especially disappointing. As I already posted some time ago, I had made a crossover in my head (made a couple of fanarts about it and started writing a fic) between Doctor who and Dark, the main dynamic being that Jonas Kahnwald DID NOT WANT TO TRAVEL WITH THE DOCTOR but didn't really have a choice. So I was super happy when they made Belinda, a character who does not want to run around either. Because I too wouldn't want that. I wouldn't want to travel with the Doctor and probably a lot of people wouldn't, and it's great that the show decided to explore this. Except no. She doesn't want to go home because it's just normal to want that and because she has a life of her own, nuh uh! Remember kids, having a baby to return to is the only thing that could possibly keep you from seeking a PTSD-causing experience of wonder and mortal danger.
Belinda not wanting to travel in the TARDIS because she has her own existence to carry out was a nice continuation and flip side of Ruby getting PTSD about it. Doctor Who was finally exploring the realistic implications of such an experience, from different point of views: ultimately heading towards the conclusion that it's not all sunshine and rainbows and it's probably not for everyone. Then they erased all that with Belinda in favor of some baby plot
