Please Stay: Lucy & Flynn
As fugitives of justice they find themselves confined to this overgrown, Lord-forsaken pit. A den controlled by Agent Christopher who, much to Lucy’s dismay had strong opinions, and even more forceful and constricting rules.
When Wyatt burst out, Lucy is compelled to stay behind. It wasn’t like he had invited her to come along. Besides, she couldn’t risk losing Amy forever to go after him again. Stunned, Lucy lingers in the hallway. Five fingers absently play with the locket hanging around her neck as she stares at the door.
Lucy had been so fixated upon the opportunity that the door presented that she had nearly missed Flynn’s words. Fortunately, she had grown proficient at not only analyzing the setting, but listening to catch when others were addressing her without warning.
“Please stay. I’d like some company.”
When Flynn implores her for a tiny semblance of companionship, the brunette’s tired turquoise hues widen in a cross between amazement and confusion. Her thin lips part with the desire to say so much but the words could not pry themselves free of stubborn tongue. “Sure...” It was the single word she could utter in the moment. Lucy attempts to give him a welcoming smile. After all, she was the one who requested his presence and his help.
She gestures over her shoulder to the couch she had been working on earlier. The taught springs of the roughed up furniture groan under the weight of her slender figure.
After the brief silence began to feel like a barricade, Preston hesitantly inquires,“so...uhm...what do you want to... talk about?” It was her assumption that he had something on his mind. Who wouldn’t? After all they had been through. Her eyes train expectantly upon Flynn as she awaits his answer.
